We have heard now twice about install problems on Vista x64 but can’t repro here.

There fore we post the following information here on how to fix a install issue.

Here is how to check the status of how the install went, please report back to us:
a) Start VS goto Tools->Extension Manager and look if the Addins show up there and if they are enabled.
b) Please report that status back to us

Now, here is how to fix the install
a) In the Extension Manager uninstall all addins from the extension manager
b) You will have the following folder now on disk:
C:\Program Files (x86)\tangible engineering\tangible T4 editor plus modeling tools 2010
c) There is a shortcut named VS Extensions Install Folder in that folder. Please follow it
d) You will end up here:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions\tangible engineering\tangible modeling tools\1.0
e) In that folder there are several directories one for each component of the editor and modeling tools. Each folder contains a VSIX file.
f) Please double click the VSIX file on each folder to install the component
g) After you have installed all components you are done. And everything should be fine now

Hi!

I had this issue too. The addin did NOT show up in the extension manager as an installed addin. However when I ran the setup again it asked whether I wanted the install removed or repaired.

The fix did work.

Thanks,
Erno

I have the almost the same issue. The setup over the vsix files doesn't work. The Extension Manager shows the templates. In the "New Project" dialog there's no one.

I have 64bit German Windows 7 with VS 2010 Ultimate English.

Hello,

you need to create a regular project and then add a new Item to it. So there is nothing in add project dialog. The templates are in add item dialog.

Please send mail to support@tangible.de if more help needed.

Hi,

Just for info: I failed to see the editor installed as an extension (the UML tools did, somehow). Following the instructions above, I still get the following error log after a failed editor install. Moving the stuff to another location fails to solve the issue, so far.

2011-02-10 16:36:21 - Beginning to install extension to Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate...
2011-02-10 16:36:22 - Install Error : System.IO.PathTooLongException: C:\Documents and Settings\myident\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions\tangible engineering\tangible T4 Editor\1.0\ItemTemplates\VisualBasic\tangible T4 Editor\1033\AdvancedTransformTemplateVB.zip: AdvancedTransformTemplateVB.vstemplate

The fix worked for me just fine, despite the fact, that the VSIX files were inside "C:\Program Files (x86)\tangible engineering\tangible T4 editor plus modeling tools 2010" subfolders, and not in "VS Extension Install Folder".
